Alashiya

Alashiya, juga disebut Alasiya, juga dikenal sebagai Kerajaan Alashiya,^[1] adalah sebuah negara yang berdiri pada Pertengahan dan Akhir Zaman Perunggu, dan terletak di suatu tempat di Mediterania Timur. Wilayah tersebut adalah sumber besar dari barang-barang, khususnya tembaga, untuk Mesir Kuno dan negara lain di Timur Dekat Kuno. Wilayah tersebut disebutkan dalam sejumlah teks yang masih dilestarikan dan sekarang dianggap sebagai nama kuno dari Siprus atau wilayah Siprus. Hal ini dikonfirmasikan oleh analisis saintifik yang dilakukan di Universitas Tel Aviv terhadap lauh-lauh tanah liat yang dikirim dari Alashiya ke penguasa lainnya.^[2]
