Marianjoy was founded in 1972 as a nonprofit specialty teaching hospital by the Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary of Wheaton, Illinois. Marianjoy joined Northwestern Medicine healthcare system in 2016.
