Larak Rural District (Persian: دهستان لارك) is in the Central District of Qeshm County, Hormozgan province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Larak Shahri.[3]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of Shahab District) was 466 in 98 households.[4] There were 473 inhabitants in 109 households at the following census of 2011.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 421 in 115 households. The most populous of its three villages was Larak Shahri, with 421 people.[2]

In May 2017, the rural district was transferred to the Central District.[6]

Geography

The district is a small island in the Straits of Hormuz on the south side of Hormuz Island; it is located about 45 km southeast of Bandar Abbas and 18 km southeast of the eastern end of Qeshm Island.
